Angelo Papalexiou
Angelo is the Managing Director and founder of AP Taxation. Angelo graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) degree and went on to become a Chartered Accountant in 2004.
Angelo has significant experience in the accounting and taxation industry and believes his responsibility to clients is one of a Trusted Advisor, not merely an accountant. Having also gained invaluable experience working at NAB as a Business Bank Manager, allows him to perform this role better than most in the industry.
Creating meaningful conversations and thinking ‘outside the box’ is the simple formula to his success.
MAX KHATRI
Max completed a bachelor’s degree in Commerce subsequently moving to Australia and completing a Masters degree in Accounting & International Finance at Deakin University.
Max specialises in preparing tax returns and financial reports for all types of businesses and individuals. His ongoing development in the field, paired with his keen interest in tax and strong head for numbers has enabled him to branch out into tax planning and advisory services. He also has a keen interest and involvement in IT and cloud-based business services within the practice.
Max also enjoys managing his own active share options portfolio and prides himself in looking after his clients “all year round” and going beyond just taxation.
SHARMILA DOOKIA
Sharmila joined AP Taxation in 2022 and brings over 15 years of experience in professional practice having previously worked in a mid -tier accounting firm.
She completed her ACCA membership in 1999, and a Bachelor of Accounting (Business & Finance) degree in 2005 from RMIT. She is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant having completed her CA in 2008. Sharmila works closely with her clients to gain an understanding of their business and assists them in meeting their financial goals and ensuring they meet their compliance requirements.
In her spare time, Sharmila enjoys going for walks, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
MARTIN CHEN
Martin Chen joined out team in 2023 and is enjoys the role of Senior Taxation accountant at AP Taxation. Martin completed his Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance at the University of South Australia and is also a fully qualified Chartered Accountant having completed his CA in 2021.
Martin’s diverse experience encompasses providing specialist tax advice and advisory services to high net wealth individuals, family businesses and large manufacturing and construction entities – whether it be business structuring advice, property tax advice (state and federal) and Capital Gains Tax.
Personable and diligent, Martin’s hands-on approach allows him to work directly with business owners and decision makers, assisting them with the complexities and issues with starting a business, general tax compliance and contributing to their growth and success.
In his spare time, Martin enjoys playing badminton and Mahjong.
